Youth Summer Music Programs
Instilling a life-long love of music for over 40 years.
The School of Music at Ohio State offers a diverse series of summer programs specifically designed to further students' understanding of — and love for — music. Our dedicated faculty has crafted rich experiences to engage the individual as a musician, person and scholar.
While some of our usual programs are on hold until we can return to an on-campus, in-person experience, we are pleased to provide the following programs for high school musicians during summer 2021.
For detailed information about each program including eligibility, tuition and fees, program activities, faculty and more, visit the program’s web page.

July 9 – 11, 2021
Location: Steinbrenner Band Center, Ohio Stadium
The Marching Band Summer Clinic is an opportunity for high school marching band students to improve their musicianship and marching skills as they contemplate an audition for the Ohio State Marching Band. Under the direction of marching band staff and student leaders, participants learn the music and military-style marching fundamentals used by the Ohio State Marching Band in an encouraging, fun and interactive environment.
For students entering grades 10–12 in the 2021–2022 school year, and 2021 high school graduates. Students must have completed at least one year of marching band and must play a brass or percussion instrument.
While uncertainties related to COVID-19 remain, the safety of our community continues to be our top priority. Should it become necessary to change the delivery method of our day programs, students and families will be notified promptly.
